Community of St. Bridget Volunteers Needed:

There is a need for volunteers to take on some of the administrative duties of our Community. These are explained in some detail below.

If, after prayerful consideration, you choose to volunteer or would like more information, please contact Nancy Tondy at ntondy@gmail.com or Mary Eileen at mecreg6@yahoo.com.

Why do we need volunteers at this time?

CSB is a member-led community, which means the members are involved and do the work of maintaining our small community. The Leadership Team works to support this model. Until now, Mary Eileen has performed several administrative tasks, such as creating the weekly reflections, constructing and sending a newsletter twice per week, as well as serving on the Liturgy Planning Committee. Mary Eileen is our pastoral leader, and we need her to be available for pastoral things, like administering sacraments, counseling people, keeping in touch with our members, and overseeing our worship through the liturgical year. Our volunteers can take care of the other tasks.

The gifts you have that we need include

  • prayerful reflection/writing

  • being able to organize documents (using technology to create easy-to-access Excel sheets, files, or booklets)

  • research

These are the specific duties we need help with:

Reflection Ministry

Volunteers needed for a once-a-month (or semi-monthly) reflection that will be posted on our website, instead of coming through the Mailchimp venue. Currently, Mary Eileen provides this on a weekly basis.  With feedback that we have received, it appears that our Community would benefit more from the reflection going out once a month or so. There is no limit to the number of volunteers we can use. If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Mary Eileen for further information at mecreg6@yahoo.com, or call 216-408-4657.

Librarian

Volunteers are needed to create and maintain the following:

  • A file for the music we use at our liturgies and other sacramental ministries.  This person or persons would collect the music from our written liturgies and from partial lists that have been created.

  • A file for the optional prayers used at our liturgies, i.e., Transformation Rite, Affirmation of Belief, Communion Rite, Prayer of Jesus (some of these will be provided)

  • A file for the seasonal templates of the Eucharistic Prayers for Advent, Christmastide, Ordinary Time, Lent and Eastertide (will be provided)

  • A file of the various prayer options used for our Communal Reconciliation services and Anointing of the Sick services. (will be provided).

These saved listings will be made available to all our Liturgists, Tech Persons, and Cantors.  Such listings will help tremendously in the preparations for our services.  Some of us have already created limited lists but putting them all together as a resource with continued additions will be most useful.

Historian

A volunteer is needed for maintaining the history of St. Bridget, our namesake, as well as creating a file of our past liturgies and our ongoing development as a faith community.
